The Teeter Fit Spine LX9 is the most advanced inversion table to date and includes a lot of very nice features.

The LX9 is part of Teeters new for 2019 FitSpine range and possesses many of the same features as the slightly cheaper Teeter FitSpine X3 inversion table.

However, since the LX9 is the most advanced inversion table from the range it has a few more useful features when compared to the X3 inversion table from Teeters X-Series.

We will take a look at all of these features in the next section.

Teeter FlexTech backrest:

The new FlexTech backrest can be found on this LX9 inversion table and on the other Teeter X-series inversion tables.

As you can see in the product images, the FlexTech backrest really makes the inversion table stand out from the vast majority of inversion tables available.

You will also notice that the bed is not padded like many inversion tables these days, however there is a good reason as to why Teeter opt for this style of backrest.

As with the iconic ComforTrak backboards found on the Teeters EP-560 and EP-960 inversion tables, the LX9 and the X Series inversion tables have a smooth surface.

This is to allow for a better body slide, which allows for better spinal decompression when using a Teeter inversion table.

Padded and upholstered backboards can often cause friction while inverting whereas the smooth surface on Teeter tables let you slide down the backrest more easily, giving a better stretch with less effort.

Another reason for the molded contoured backrest is so that accessories (see next section) can be added to the backrest in order to enhance the users inversion sessions.

In addition to this, the non-padded backboard has 3 additional stretch grips surrounding the small black headrest cushion.

The stretch grip handles are great for providing additional stretching options while you invert.

The FlexTech bed also has an 8 point floating suspension system at the back which moves with your body and offers a wider range of motion and great comfort, thanks to its flexible design.

Lumbar Bridge and Accupressure Nodes accessories included:

The lumbar bridge and acupressure nodes were previously accessories that were only included on the LTD model of the Teeter EP range.

On the LX9 and the XSeries from Teeter they have now been included in the standard package.

As you can see in the image to the right, the bed on the Teeter LX9 inversion table has numerous ridges for placement of the accessories.

The lumbar bridge can be easily attached to the inversion table and there are numerous adjustment slots allowing the user to adjust the curve of the bridge.

You can set the lumbar bridge to a higher curve or a more subtle protrusion depending on the amount of lower back support you require. A great accessory for adding extra  support and traction to the lower regions of the back.

You will also see there are a number of placement options for the acupressure nodes, allowing you to place them wherever you feel they may be beneficial for adding a little extra pressure.

You can simply rest upon the acupressure nodes while you invert to apply a steady pressure on troublesome areas of the back.

Or you can shift your weight around the nodes to apply a shiatsu style massage to any problematic areas of the back.

Both the lumbar bridge and the acupressure nodes are fairly unique and useful accessories not often found on inversion tables by other brands.

And while they may seem like small or perhaps irrelevant additions, they can make a a big difference and certainly enhance the inversion experience a great deal.

Extra Long Ankle Lock Lever, Boarding Platform and Arched Frame

The deluxe EZ-Reach ankle lock lever is a very useful addition for reducing the need to bend down while securing your ankles into the ankle holders.

The aerospace-grade stainless steel ankle lock provides the user with a very easy and safe solution to mounting the table. Significantly reducing the risk of straining your back while mounting the table due to the excessive pressure which may be caused by arching your back.

A great feature for those who are a little less flexible or those who need to be cautious when bending over.

The boarding platform and arched frame are new additions that that make mounting the inversion table more accessible process.

The raised platform is non skid and is a very unique feature that is not available with any other inversion table currently.

While the boarding platform may not seem a particularly useful feature to the more agile among us, it is certainly a nice feature to help with stability and safety when using the inversion table.

Traction Handles, StretchMax Side Handles and Tether Strap with preset markings

The traction handles are another feature that are generally found on other Teeter inversion tables such as the EP-960 and the FitSpine X3.

They are an excellent addition that allows the user to apply pressure at lower inversion angles to increase spinal decompression.

In addition to this the user can also rhythmically apply pressure add oscillation while inverting.

The Stretch Max handles are a fairly standard feature found on most inversion tables. They are basically long side handles which are fairly common. They do however help with balance and movement when using the table.

The Tether strap is also a common sight on most inversion tables. It is an optional strap that attaches to the backrest and the table frame that can be adjusted to limit the angle of inversion.

In many cases the inversion tether strap is just a plain black strip of fabric so there is a little trial and error when adjusting it.

On this model however, Teeter have marked the tether strap with angular markings of 20, 40 and 60 degrees so you can be a little more precise when adjusting the angle you wish to invert at.

You also have the option to not use the strap at all, which allows for optional lockout in full inversion.

The Lx9 inversion table also features precision balancing like all other Teeter inversion tables.

This allows you to control the rotation of the bed area simply by moving your arms above your head or down by your side, in order to rotate and balance the table as you invert.

Is the Teeter FitSpine LX9 Inversion tables a worthwhile investment?

If the price of the LX9 inversion table from Teeter is within your budget then this inversion table is certainly a worthwhile choice.

At the time of writing (Oct 2018) the LX9 has only just been released and it is one of (if not) the most advanced inversion tables on the market. It is also likely to be the most advanced inversion table for a fair few years, probably until Teeter release another upgraded model.

Teeter as always, have everything covered and have packed this inversion table with very useful features to help newcomers to inversion therapy and more seasoned users.

Although it is true that many of the features on the LX9 inversion table can be found on other Teeter models such as the X3 FitSpine Inversion table (also newly released at time of writing) and the very popular EP-960 Teeter inversion table. This inversion table possesses features never before seen such as the mounting base and Bluetooth technology.

If however, the new features like the curved frame and mounting base do not seem particularly important to you personally, the X3 FitSpine inversion table may be a better, more affordable option. You may even wish to consider the X1 or X2 Fitspine inversion tables which are also similar in design to the LX9 but also lack a few of the more advanced features.

Since Teeter inversion tables tend to all be built on the same design it is often the additional features that boost the price up with each model.

This is true for both the EP range and the FitSpine Teeter inversion table range.

If for example you do not feel an extra long ankle lever is especially necessary, you can save a bit of cash and opt for the more entry level Teeter inversion tables like the X1 or EP-560. So be sure to have a look and compare the different features offered by each Teeter table and decide which will be most beneficial for your individual needs.

Overall regardless of what Teeter inversion table you consider you are likely to be very pleased with the quality and comfort provided.

The Teeter X-Series inversion tables are upgraded models to the EP range and overall possess fairly similar features to the Ep-560 and EP-960, a pair of Teeter inversion tables that are generally considered Teeters best inversion tables, until now!

The main change from the EP range of inversion tables, is the futuristic looking backrest on the X-series models that gives the inversion table a really sleek look.

You also have the choice of one of three models – the X1, X2, X3 or LX9. Each of which has slightly different features.

The X1 is the most basic and the cheapest inversion table from the Teeter X range and as you have probably worked out the X3 and LX9 are the most feature packed and expensive of the 4. We will look more into the differences between each model further down the page.

Much like other Teeter inversion tables, the X-series also some very high ratings from buyers.

Each features the same FlexTech backrest and features a tether strap angle limitation device to restrict the inversion angle should you not wish to invert too much on certain sessions.

Each table also features comfortable wrap around ankle cups for secure support for your ankles while inverting.

All of the X-series inversion tables from Teeter also feature precision rotation which allows the user to easily control the inversion process. Simply by raising or lowering your arms you can balance the inversion table and rotate it in a controlled manner.

The tables also feature optional lock out in full inversion to keep the tables backrest securely in place when inverting fully.

The last similarity is the curved stretch bar you can see at the back of the inversion table on the lower back floor bar. The bar has been raised to provide a curve so that users have further support or an additional stretching support while inverting.

Since many of the features on the X-series can be found on models from the similarly priced EP range from Teeter, the new and improved FlexTech backrest is clearly the main reason to opt for this particular inversion table.

Overall the X-series inversion tables from Teeter are a very stylish choice that are guaranteed to provide the great functionality Teeter are famous for.

They also have plenty of useful features that are great for beginners and for those more experienced with inversion therapy.

Is the Teeter X3 FitSpine inversion table the best in the series?

Out of the X1, X2 and X3 models the X3 is clearly the most advanced and has the most features, it is however also the most expensive of the 3 (as you would probably expect).

The LX9 is again more expensive due to extra features such as a mounting board and a curved frame for easier access.

The X3 is clearly the best out of the 3 X series inversion tables. However, it really depends on how beneficial the extra features are going to be for you personally, as to whether you feel they are worth the extra cost.

If you are prone to spraining your back when bending over then the long ankle lever lock is probably going to be a valuable feature.

If not, then perhaps the the X1 FitSpine may be a better option. Although the lack of extra long side handles on the X1 model may be a little off putting to some inexperienced users.

The traction handles are also a nice addition not found on the X1 or X2, but will they be overly useful to you?

The Teeter EP-960 inversion table is (along with the similar EP-970 model), widely regarded as one of the best Teeter inversion tables available.

In addition to this Teeter are widely regarded by many, as the best inversion table brand to consider. Making the Ep-960, one of the best in the business!

If you have read through our post on inversion table features, you will quickly notice just from the images of the EP-960, that this table is packed with extra features. All of which add so much to an already exceptionally designed inversion table!

The Teeter Ep-960 is suitable for users between the heights of 4 ft 8″ up to 6 ft 6″, with a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs.

*Please note – this is the Teeter EP-960 Ltd model which comes with acupressure nodes and a lumbar bridge included (more on these later). The only difference between the EP-960 Ltd and standard 960 are these additions and therefore all of the other features below apply to both the Ltd and standard models.

Contoured (ComforTrak) backrest with built in grips:

If you have already had a look around at other inversion tables, you may be thinking the backrests on Teeter tables do not look as good as many of the padded inversion tables.

However, inversion tables from Teeter opt for this particular style of backrest as it is far more effective for spinal decompression. Especially when compared to padded backrests that allow the body to sink into them.

Whereas a padded backrest creates more friction due to the body sinking into it, on a smooth Teeter backrest you can effortlessly slide down the backrest way more easily.

You can therefore fully stretch out your spine and back muscles more easily.

The Teeter Comfort Cushion can be bought separately for anyone wishing to add padding to their Teeter table

The EP-960 Teeter backrest also features 3 built in stretch grips, 2 each side of the padded black headrest and one at the top of the table bed above the headrest.

These grips allow for even more stretching options that simply would not be possible on an inversion table with a padded bed!

If you are worried at all that the Teeter bed may not be as comfortable as other models. Simply take a look at the reviews from buyers in the next tab, they are sure to convince you otherwise!

One last thing to mention is the thin lines you’ll have noticed scattered around the backrest. These are present so you can add additional features to the backrest such as the lumbar bridge and acupressure nodes.

You can even add a Teeter branded comfort cushion (not included with Ltd or standard model) should you insist upon having a padded backrest!

EZ angle tether strap inversion limiter & EZ Reach ankle lock: 

Although an inversion angle limiting tether strap isn’t exactly a mind blowing feature, the tether straps on Teeter tables are a bit better than other tables.

This is mainly due to the fact that they have incremental angle markings at 20, 40 and 60 degrees, making it easy to limit the inversion angle more precisely.

As with all tether strap angle limiters you have the option to remove the strap, should you not wish your inversion to be limited!

The patented EZ reach ankle lock is a really nice feature which significantly reduces the need to bend while securing your ankles into the Ergo Embrace ankle supports.

The ankle lock features triple lock security for exceptional safety while inverting, while the ergonomic ankle supports ensure that weight is evenly and comfortably distributed around the feet.

Stretch Max handles and traction handles:

The long side handles that feature on the EP-960 are a fairly standard addition to most inversion tables.

They are particularly useful for help when returning to the upright position after inversion and can also be used for additional stretching.

On the other hand, the inclusion of traction handles is something you are unlikely to find on other inversion tables.

The traction handles on this Teeter table allow the user the option of increasing decompression at lower angles. They can also be used for oscillation while inverted for even more decompression aid.

One last stretching implement is built into the lower floor bar at the back of the inversion table.

In the featured images above, you can see the bar raises in the middle allowing the user to easily grab hold of the bar when inverted to stretch out.

The lumbar bridge is a great addition for adding support and deeper decompression to the lower back area while inverting.

The 8 colorful acupressure nodes can also be placed throughout various locations over the ComforTrak bed. They can even be placed upon the lumbar bridge due to the bridge also containing the required placement slots.

Is the Teeter EP-960 A good choice?

Since writing this the new and improved Teeter FitSpine inversion tables have been released and therefore the EP-960 is no longer considered the best Teeter choice. You can read all the about the Teeter X3 Fitspine inversion table here and see the differences in each FitSpine model.

However, when it comes to a Teeter inversion table, you can always expect it to be a very good choice of table. So the EP-960 is still a decent choice even with the release of the FitSpine tables.

After all, Teeter are a brand that puts everything into making their inversion tables very high quality and very safe.

Unlike other inversion tables, Teeter tables are FDA registered medical devices and are put through very rigorous testing, to ensure their high quality and effectiveness is always at its best.

Anyone in doubt of just how good the Teeter brand is, need only read some of the buyer reviews in the next tab or on visiting the retailer.

The Teeter EP-960 Ltd is not only high in quality, it is also comfortable and very effective for back pain issues.

The one minor problem for some may however be the price.

It is certainly debatable if this is the best inversion table around, however it is certainly among the best that are on offer.

The Health Gear ITM5500 is one of our recommended inversion tables that feature heat and vibration massage functionality.

The Health Gear ITM 5500 is fairly good value for money and has some very nice features.

Its bold racing style design is also something that sets it apart from many other inversion tables.

One minor issue some have however, is this inversion tables inability to go fully into 90 degree inversion. It does however, get very close to the full 90 degrees, but users are unable to hang freely from the backrest.

4 inch thick padded ‘racing style’ backrest:

The red and black backrest on this particular model really helps it to stand out from the crowd.

The racing style bed area is padded with 4 inches of memory-style foam, for firm yet comfortable stress free inversion therapy sessions.

The heating pad can be placed in the center of the padded backrest and seamlessly integrates to the design of the bed.

You can also remove the heat and vibrate pad should you prefer and the padded backrest remains a highly comfortable feature.

Due to the contoured design of the backrest it is also provides very good support to the user.

Pin selector angle limiter, extended ankle lever and rear stretch bar:

These extra features really add some nice touches to this Health Gear inversion table.

The pin selector angle limitation device is a system that is increasing becoming more and more popular.

If you wish to limit the angle of your inversion session you can do so by placing the limiting rod into one of the marked angle slots.

You can choose to limit the angle to 20, 40 or 60 degrees, or opt to not use the device to allow for (almost) full 90 degree inversion.

The pin system is very easy to use and quick to adjust, although some may find it a little limiting due to there only being 3 angle options to choose from.

The extended ankle lever is also becoming a popular addition to modern inversion tables.

It is particularly useful for those wishing not to put any additional strain upon their back while securing their ankles into the dual foam rollers.

The lever reduces the need to bend down too far when securing yourself onto the table, as is sometimes required on some other inversion table models.

The raised bump on the rear lower frame bar is also a great addition which can provide extra stability while inverted.

It also allows the user to stretch themselves a little more while in an inverted position.

Advanced heat and vibration massage pad:

The heat and vibration massage pad on the ITM-5500 inversion table runs all the way up the inside of the backrest, providing some soothing and relaxing heat and vibro massage while you invert.

The pad is electrically powered and can be plugged into a main socket to operate.

It also features a wired remote control which allows the user to adjust the heat and vibration settings, while they are inverted.

You also have the option to remove the pad should you require.

This also allows the heat pad to be used elsewhere such as on the bed or a sofa.

Is the Health Gear ITM5500 heat and vibration massage Inversion table the best choice?

When it comes to inversion tables that feature heat and massage functions, there a some pretty good options to choose from.

Due to its fairly good price the Health Gear ITM 5500 inversion table is certainly one of the best options currently available.

You can view some of the other options here in our best heat and massage inversion table guide.

Even if you opt not to use the heat and vibro massage pad, the ITM5500 is still a very good inversion table overall.

The extra features and the large padded backrest make it a very functional, comfortable and well built inversion table.

As is found with many inversion tables that feature heat and massage pads, there are a few complaints that the heat and massage functions are not particularly strong.

This however, is to be expected considering the price.

You simply will not get the same quality of heat or massage on an inversion table, that you would expect to find on a massage chair or high end massage product.

You can see for yourself what other buyers are saying about this fairly well rated inversion table in the next tab.

Overall this is a very good heat and vibrate inversion table to consider, just don’t expect too much from any heat and vibrate inversion table in this price range.

The Exerpeutic 475 SL inversion table is a similar but newer model to the very well rated Exerpeutic 225 SL inversion table.

Both the 475 and 225 SL are very well rated inversion tables and fall into similar price brackets.

However The 475 SL inversion table is (for many) probably a better choice overall due to some slightly better features.

The Exerpeutic 475 SL also has a higher 300 lbs weight capacity and is able to invert to a higher angle (listed as 180 but perhaps closer to 175). Whereas the 225 SL has a weight capacity of 250 lbs and inverts only to 165 degrees at full inversion.

Much like the 225 SL model on this Exerpeutic inversion table you have the choice of either standard ankle holders or more comfortable Airsoft ankle holders (more on these later).

Note – The price stated above is the cost of the inversion table with the Airsoft ankle braces. On visiting the retailer you can view the model with standard ankle clamps which costs less.

1.8 Inch Padded backrest and 2 position headrest:

With each Exerpeutic inversion table the different models tend to have thicker padding on the backrest and a higher weight capacity.

The 225 SL features 1″ padded backrest and has a 250 lbs weight capacity.

The 475 SL (this model) features 1.8″ padded backrest and has a 300 lbs weight capacity.

The 975 SL features 2.3″ padded backrest and has a 350 lbs weight capacity.

The backrest and headrest is padded with 1.8 inches soft foam and and the headrest is separated from the main area of the backrest.

This allows you have the option to either adjust the headrest of the table to meet with the rest of the backrest or extend it slightly to suit your body length or comfort preference.

One difference between this model and the other two Exerpeutic inversion table models listed above, is the 475 SL doesn’t come with a lumbar support pillow whereas the other two do.

However, you could perhaps use a rolled up towel to make a make shift lumbar pillow if you feel it is really necessary. Or opt for one of the other Exerpeutic inversion tables available.

Pin Selector angle limiter, rear floor stretch bar and long side handles:

The pin selector angle limiter is a robust way to limit the inversion angle, should you wish to.

On the pin selector there are 4 options of 20, 35, 55 and 75 degrees.

To limit the inversion angle you simply place the pin in the appropriate slot to hold the table at that angle when inverting.

Choosing the 20 degree slot slot will give a very mild inversion, keeping you fairly close to the horizontal position, whereas at 75 degrees you will be closer to full inversion.

You of course also have the option not to use the limiter and invert fully at around 175 – 180 degrees.

As with most other Exerpeutic inversion tables this table features extra long side handles and an upward curving stretch bar situated on the horizontal rear floor bar.

The stretch bars on Exerpeutic inversion tables are a nice touch and great for easy positioning and increased stability while inverted.

They also provide the option to stretch your whole body in an effortless way while inverted.

Airsoft ankle holders and extra long ratchet lever:

Uncomfortable ankle holders on inversion tables are often one of the main complaints buyers have.

luckily on most inversion tables from Exerpeutic you have the option to choose between regular molded plastic ankle cups or their patent pending Airsoft ankle supports.

Since the Airsoft ankle supports are one of the best features on Exerpeutic tables it is highly recommended you opt for them.

They are a great feature for added support and comfort, however they do boost the cost of the table up a little.

The Airsoft ankle holders have been designed to let air to freely flow into the different chambers of each ankle holder. This allows the supports to mold and adjust to the shape of your legs.

The extra padding on the ankle holders also provides much better comfort than you would get using the standard u-shaped plastic cups.

Nb – You can opt not to have the Airsoft ankle holders on this model by visiting the retailer and choosing the without option. 

Another useful feature on this, and other inversion tables from Exerpeutic is the palm activated ratchet locking system.

This feature allows users to lock their ankles in place without having to bend down and risk putting strain on their back.

While this may not seem a great feature to the more agile among us, less agile users will likely find this feature very useful.

The ratchet also has a double lock mechanism so the ankles are locked in place extremely securely for maximum safety.

Is the Exerpeutic 475 SL Inversion table a good option?

If you are going to buy an Exerpeutic inversion table, the 475 SL is one of the top 2 best options available. The other being the more expensive Exerputic 975 SL which is also an extremely good choice.

The best reason to opt for this inversion table over many others is due to the many features, most notably the Airsoft ankle holders.

Although budget inversion tables can be very good in their own respect, many lack the added extras and comfort found on inversion tables like this, that tend to be around double the price.

The headrest, backrest and Airsoft ankle supports all combine to make a very comfortable inversion table that provides great support and a stable solution for inversion therapy.

The design of this inversion table is very robust and the table is well made, as are all of the Exerpeutic inversion products listed on our site.

If cash is not a big deal, we would really recommend the Exerpeutic 975 SL inversion table over this model.

However, for value for money this inversion table really is worth a look and has some very good ratings as you can see in the next tab.

The Exerpeutic 225SL inversion table is and exceptional inversion table that has left many buyers very happy with their purchase.

Like many of the excellent inversion tables from the Exerpeutic range, this inversion table is very high rated and feature packed.

On visiting the retailer you have the option to purchase this inversion table either with the Airsoft ankle clamps or without (you can read more about these below).

While the Airsoft variant 225 SL model is a bit more pricey than the 175 SL model, adding this option is a good idea if you find the ankle holders on other inversion tables a bit uncomfortable.

1 Inch Padded backrest and lumbar support pillow:

The padded backrest is always a feature people love to have on their inversion table for a little extra comfort.

In addition to the padded backrest, the Exerpeutic 225 SL inversion table also comes with an optional lumbar support pillow.

Using the lumbar support pillow while on the inversion table is a great way to provide a little extra lower back support.

It is also a gentle way to stretch the spine out a little more while inverting.

Rear Cross bar angle limiter, stretch bar and long looped side handles:

The angle limitation device on this inversion table model is a little different to the majority of inversion tables on the market.

On the rear leg of the table there are 3 holders in which the blue cross bar can be placed in order to restrict the inversion angle.

While this is a very straightforward system to use and adjust, it is perhaps a little limiting as there are only 3 settings.

For example, when using an inversion table with a tether strap system you can adjust the strap to accommodate an infinite range of angles.

The Exerpeutic inversion table also features a lower rear bar for easy positioning while inverting and additional stretching.

Airsoft ankle holders and extra long ratchet lever:

The ankle holders are often a feature that receive a bit of criticism on some inversion tables, mainly due to the lack of comfort they provide.

On this inversion table you get a choice as to whether you would prefer regular molded plastic ankle cups (Exerpeutic 175 SL model).

Or if you would prefer the very comfortable patent pending Exerpeutic Airsoft ankle braces on the upgraded 225 SL model.

Although the option of Airsoft ankle holders will cost a little more, it is a nice feature for added support and comfort.

Is the Exerpeutic 225 SL Inversion table a worthwhile choice?

As you can see from the ratings in the next tab, the buyer reviews for this particular inversion table are very good.

However there are a couple of reasons why some buyers may choose to opt for another inversion table over this particular model!

Firstly the maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs is a little less than the majority of other tables out there. The average is generally 300 lbs.

If 250 lbs is adequate for you, then no problem. Some however may prefer some extra strength.

Some buyers may also be put off by the fact that this table does not invert the full 180 degrees.

Although 165 degrees is still a very good and satisfying angle for many, you are unable to hang completely free of the backrest on this model (as you can see in the image to the right).

All in all, Exerpeutic inversion tables are a very good choice. They are very well made, and designed with a lot of consideration for user comfort and functionality.

In many cases this fairly well priced inversion table certainly exceeds expectations and will be a good choice for most.

However in our opinion the Exerpeutic 975 SL inversion table is still the best model available from the Exerpeutic range!

The Health Gear ITM7.5 inversion table is a very solid inversion table, that is highly recommended for those who are a bit too tall for the majority of other inversion tables.

The ITM 7.5 is able to accommodate users up to a height of 7 feet!

This makes it an excellent choice for anyone over 6 ft 6″ (the maximum height range on most inversion tables) who may find other inversion tables are not suitable for their high stature.

In addition to the extra height, the Health Gear ITM7.5 inversion table also provides some extra weight capacity when compared to the majority of other models.

The recommended weight capacity for the ITM7.5 is 400 lbs making it one of the highest weight capacity inversion tables available! (the average is usually 300 lbs)

The overall user height range is 5 ft 1″ – 7 ft.

In addition to this tables sturdy and accommodating design it is also packed with some great features which we will look at below.

Padded 4″ foam backrest with heat and massage pad:

If you are after a padded inversion table this is one of the most padded available, featuring over 4 inches of memory foam style padding in the bed and headrest.

The size of the bed area is also something that really makes this inversion table stand out as it is a very large, wide surface on which to place your body.

Since many padded inversion tables only feature a couple of inches of backrest padding this is certainly above the average. However, do be aware that the padding is stated as memory foam “style” and not listed as actual memory foam.

The headrest of the inversion table is adjustable so you can further add to the comfort by adjusting it to suit your body perfectly. It is due to the adjustable headrest that this table can provide the extra few inches of height that some taller users may require.

This inversion table also comes complete with a removable deluxe heat and vibrating massage pad that can be controlled using the wired hand controller.

Since the heat and massage pad is removable and lightweight you are not only limited to using it on the inversion table. You can also use the pad all around the home on your bed or on the sofa.

The heat and massage functions can be controlled using the handheld remote which allows you to adjust the heat, intensity and duration of the massage function.

Note: One thing to be aware of with heat and massage pads on inversion tables are that they are generally not very strong.

They are not designed to give a full on massage like you would receive from a massage chair. Often these pads simply provide a bit of heat and a gentle vibrate function for a little extra comfort and stimulation.

It is quite common to see buyers have issue with the heat and massage pads included with inversion tables in their reviews. Although it is fairly clear they are expecting a bit much from the pad.

For the most part a heat and massage pad is often a welcome addition for buyers, providing they accept that the functionality will have its limitations.

3 position system for inversion angle limitation:

The inversion angle limitation system is probably the feature that could be most improved upon with this inversion table.

The table features an adjustable bar that runs horizontally across the back part of the frame that can limit the angle of inversion to either 20, 40 or 60 degrees.

This is a fairly ridged and secure angle limitation device to have on the table, however it is a little limited since it only adjusts to 3 specific inversion angles.

Despite this, it is still a useful addition that is ideal for those not wishing to partake in full inversion while using the table.

It is also a simple system to use and adjust.

Sur-lock ankle lever and support system:

The ankle supports on the ITM 7.5 are dual padded high density foam rollers to ensure complete ankle comfort while inverting.

The foam rollers can be easily clamped around your ankles using the extra long ankle locking arm which removes the need to bend down when securing yourself onto the table.

Having an extra long ankle lever is always a nice addition to any inversion table.

It certainly makes securing yourself on the table easier to do and it is less effort than having to bend all the way down to secure your ankles.

Is the Health Gear ITM7.5 big and tall Inversion table a good choice?

If you are on the taller side or need a little extra weight capacity the Health Gear ITM 7.5 is an excellent choice.

If you have read our blog post on the best inversion tables for larger people. You will already know that most inversion tables tend to have a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs and a height range that is limited to 6 ft 6″. You will also know that there are very few inversion tables that exceed these limits.

Therefore if you are over 6 ft 6″ the Health Gear ITM 7.5 is one of the only inversion tables that has been manufactured to accommodate someone of your height.

The high 400 lbs weight capacity is also a great feature!

If you do not need the additional height is it still a good choice?

If you are under 6 ft 6″ you should still find this inversion table a very good table overall. However the price may be a little off-putting, especially if you do not need the extra weight capacity either!

If the high 400 lbs weight capacity is what drew your attention to this particular table, you may wish to take a look at the IronMan 4000 or the Exerpeutic 975 SL.

Both the alternative options listed have (above average) weight capacities of 350 lbs and they are both currently a lot lower in price! So you need to ask yourself if you really need the extra 50 lbs weight capacity that the ITM7.5 can provide?

Overall 

There is no denying that the Health Gear ITM 7.5 inversion table is a pretty good inversion table overall.

It has a number of worthwhile features and the backrest and heat pad are some really good highlights.

However, if you take into consideration the high price of the inversion table, these features alone do not really justify the high price tag.

Therefore, unless you are interested in the ITM 7.5 because of the extra height it can provide or because you feel the 400 lbs weight capacity is necessary for you. It would be more cost effective to purchase a cheaper heavy duty inversion table, such as the Ironman or Exerpeutic models listed above.

The Exerpeutic 975 SL inversion table on first sight looks like an inversion table with a lot going for it!

Its bold and colorful design instantly attracts attention and the features all look like excellent additions to the table.

This inversion table is also one of the most sturdy on offer as it is able to hold up to 350 lbs in weight.

The Exerpeutic 975 SL is suitable for users between the heights of 4 ft 9″ to 6 ft 6″.

Due to the heavy duty nature of this inversion table it is a great choice for larger or heavier users.

Padded memory foam backrest with optional lumbar pillow:

The large padded backrest contains 2.3 inches of soft memory foam padding to ensure some great comfort is provided when using this inversion table.

The strong and sturdy padded backrest is vinyl covered and has been double stitched to ensure full durability.

The inversion table also comes complete with a matching lumbar support pillow.

The lumbar pillow can be attached to the bed of the table when you feel the need for extra lower back support or can be removed if not needed.

The addition of the lumbar support pillow is a really nice extra, that most inversion tables do not feature.

The iControl disk brake system is a great way to lock the table at any inversion angle

iControl disk brake system for angle limitation:

The iControl disk brake system is a pretty revolutionary idea for limiting the inversion angle on the fly.

Unlike the more ridged pin selector method of angle limitation found on other inversion tables, the disk brake system allows for infinite inversion angles up to full inversion.

To use, simply invert any angle you require and pull the orange lever on the disk brake system to lock yourself into place.

This is a great feature to have on an inversion table, it’s especially good for performing sit-ups and crunches when in the inverted 180 degree position.

Another benefit to the iControl disk brake system is that you do not need to leave the table while you adjust it. unlike inversion tables with a tether strap.

For many, this feature is likely to be one of the main reasons to opt for this inversion table. And rightly so, as it really is a very useful feature to have.

Airsoft ankle holders & Surelock ankle lever:

The palm activated “Surelock” ratchet lever is a another good addition to this table, ensuring the user does not have to bend down to secure their ankles in place.

The double lock mechanism on the ankle lever provides great security to the user. Locking the ankle cups firmly in place.

The ankle cups on the Exerpeutic 975SL are also a very welcome feature, especially if you have found other inversion tables a little uncomfortable in this area.

The Airsoft ankle holders fit the shape of the users ankles perfectly, thanks to the multiple air chamber that make up their design.

The air chambers securely fit and adjust the ankle holders to the form of your legs and ankles, providing excellent security and exceptional comfort.

This is certainly one of the best ankle support systems available on an inversion table, not only for comfort but also for security and convenience.

The Exerpeutic 975 SL is packed with so many (fairly unique) features that it is very hard to ignore.

While some of these features can be found on other inversion tables also, it is quite rare to find a table that possesses them all!

All in all, this is an excellent inversion table, that appears to have everything covered.

The iControl brake system alone, makes this table a great choice. However, then add the Airsoft ankle holders, the memory foam backrest and the easy reach ratchet lever into the mix, and you have a truly outstanding product.
